A paved road to Pino Hachado Pass in the Andes
Paso Pino Hachado is an international high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.887m (6,190ft) above the sea level, located on the Argentina-Chile border.
Located on southern Andes, the road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called RN-22 (Argentina) and 181-CH (Chile). It is one of the principal passes of the southern Andes. The pass is open from December to May.
The pass road is 69.6 km (43.24 miles) long, running west-east from Llancacura (in Malleco Province, southern Chile) to Las Lajas (in Neuquén Province, Argentina). In order to pass Pino Hachado, travelers must stop at both the Chilean and Argentinian customs and immigration services.
