How long is Mosquito Bridge?
This small suspension bridge was originally built in 1867 and reconstructed on the existing foundations in 1939. This single-lane bridge is 148 feet long over the South Fork of the American River. It’s often called the “Swinging Bridge” in reference to the physical nature of the original suspension cable bridge.

The bridge carries Mosquito Road. With a wooden surface, trailers are prohibited. The weight limit is 5 tons; the length limit is 25 feet, and the width limit is 96 inches.
