The paved road to Shemshak, the second largest ski area in Iran
Shemshak Road is a stunning asphalted road climbing up to Shemshak, the second largest ski area in Iran.
The road to the top is paved. It’s called 425, is 28.8 km long from Tehran and climbs up to 2.549m above the sea level. The route is stunning, there are interesting towns to stop at on the way, and if you are hungry try out the amazing kebabs.
The resort came into operation in 1958. It’s located in the Alborz mountain range. The road is steep and includes very narrow sections. It can be closed anytime due the weather. The road continues to Dizin, another ski resort in the country.
