A memorable road trip to Peter-Anich-Hütte
Peter-Anich-Hütte is a high mountain refuge at an elevation of 1.909m (6,259ft) above the sea level, located in the district of Innsbruck-Land in the Austrian state of Tyrol. Expect sections that are as steep as 30%.
Located south-west of Innsbruck, on the northern edge of the Stubai Alps, the road to the hut is mostly unpaved. 4x4 vehicle required. The hut was built in 1884/85 and was named after the Tyrolean cartographer Peter Anich.
Accessibility is largely limited to the summer season. Starting from Rietz, the ascent is 9,1 km (5,7 mi) long with an average gradient of 14,1% and a maximum gradient of 30%. It’s a private, car-restricted service road.
