A wild road to Menoaneng Pass

Menoaneng Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3.038m (9,967ft) above the sea level, located in the Mokhotlong district, in Lesotho. At this altitude, the drive is not for the faint of heart.

Menoaneng Pass

Located in the Central Highlands of the country, the road to the summit is unpaved and pretty steep. This road tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. Because the road is quite degraded and not very well maintained, this pass definitely requires 4×4 skills. It’s one of the highest road passes of Lesotho.

The pass is 48.28 miles (77.7 km) long, running from Molumong to Mohlanapeng. The climb offers a great scenery with many mountain villages and rondavels, and a stunning view across Lesotho’s central mountain highlands.
