Conquering Abra Yanama in Peru

Abra Yanama is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4,654m (15,269ft) above sea level, located in the Cusco Region of Peru.

Is the road to Abra Yanama unpaved?

Located in the southern part of the country, within the Área de Conservación Regional Choquequirao, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. Expect a trail that is pretty steep, with more than 50 hairpin turns. Due to its high elevation, the road is not easy.

How long is the road to Abra Yanama?

The pass road is 39.8 km (24.73 miles) long, running east-west from Colcapampa to Yanama.
