Abra Livini-Tarata
Abra Livini-Tarata is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.803m (15,757ft) above the sea level, located in the Tacna Region in southern Peru.
The road to the summit, located in the Andean Cordillera, is gravel and sandy. It’s called Carretera 38. Great trail for experienced wheelers. 4x4 vehicle recommended. Road conditions are always changing. It can be a reasonably easy drive in favourable dry conditions, but also has the potential to be a very difficult muddy and slippery track -and at times impassable- after wet weather. The road is located in this extremely inhospitable area known as the “Siberia of Peru”.
