Mirador de Tres Cruces
Located in the Paucartambo province of Peru, the Tres Cruces is a high mountain viewpoint at an elevation of 3.641m above the sea level.
The road to the summit is gravel. It’s pretty narrow and steep. 4x4 recommended. With such a high summit altitude the road can be closed anytime due to snowfalls. The zone is prone to heavy mist and can be dangerous in low visibility conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. The climb is simply terrible, with a notorius lack of oxygen that tests the organisms and a high degree of steepness. Most people feel altitude sickness at around 2,500-2,800 meters.
