Tucked away in the northwestern part of Chile, this road was recently paved. Known as Ruta C-10, it includes different segments: C-324, C-302, C-326, and C-470. The climate along the route is mostly warm and extremely dry due to its location on the Atacama Desert’s coast. However, temperatures are moderated by cooling sea currents.
How long is the road from Caldera to Huasco?
This scenic route is 184 km (114 miles) long, running north-south from Caldera, a port city in Copiapó Province, to Huasco in Huasco Province. The road can sometimes be severely affected by floods, and sandstorms are also occasionally an issue.
