Can I drive to Termas Valle de Colina?
The road to the pools is pretty challenging. It is paved until Baños Morales, but the final 10 km (6 miles) are unpaved and rocky. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended, and passenger vehicles are not advisable.
How long is the road to Baños Colina natural pools?
The road to the natural pools is called Camino Al Volcán (Ruta G-25). Starting from Santiago, the capital of the country, the drive is 76.4km (47.47 miles) long in the direction of Argentina. The road runs along a river passing through the valley, heading deeper into the mountains. It has steep parts. At the end of the trail, there’s a 3-kilometer walk to the San José Volcano viewpoint.
Is the road to Baños Colina natural pools open?
Avoid traveling this road in severe weather conditions. Even in summer, temperatures at the hot springs can be cool, especially in the evening and night, and the weather can vary from clear skies to mist, drizzle, or rain (or snow), depending on the season. In winter, the road is completely cut off, making it impossible to descend to Santiago.
