Driving the breathtaking road to Paso Caquella
Paso Caquella is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.352m (14,278ft) above the sea level, located in the Nor Lípez Province in the Potosí Department in Bolivia.

Tucked away near the Chilean border, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Carretera 701. A 4x4 vehicle is required. The road quality is not bad though it gets worse as you near the top.
The pass is 78.1 km (48.52 miles) long running west-east from Estación Avaroa to Villa Alota. The climb is mostly flat, with a 5% of maximum gradient. Named after Caquella volcano, the drive offers nice views of volcanoes and salares.
