Cuesta de Miranda
Cuesta de Miranda is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.020m (6,627ft) above the sea level, located in La Rioja Province in northwestern Argentina.
The road to the summit is asphalted. It’s called Ruta Nacional Nº 40, which runs across the whole of beautiful Argentina. The road was built between 1918-1928 and was fully paved in 2015. Do not travel this road located by the Miranda river and town of the same name in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. The road is not easy, though. Up, down, right, left all the time.
