Cuesta del Farallón: Only Experienced Drivers with Advanced Off Road Skills
Cuesta del Farallón is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.625m (15,173ft) above the sea level located in Jujuy Province in Argentina.
Tucked away in the High Andes, this high mountain road is extreme. 4x4 vehicles only. It still remains an adrenaline-pumping journey and is definitely not for the faint of lungs, heart, or legs. Words can’t describe the road and pictures don’t do it justice. The road features countless hairpin turns and extremely steep sections. The surface is unpaved and impassable after rains. Do not travel this road in weather conditions. This road tests the skill, and courage, of any driver. It’s definitely not for anyone suffering from vertigo or a fear of landslides. Only the suicidal, the insane, or the paid-to-do-this should ever drive down. In many places the road is bordered by a drop of hundreds of meters (many hundreds of feet) unprotected by guardrails. This trail passes through remote areas, so you need to be prepared. If you dare to take the risk and travel along this dusty and bumpy route, then make sure to be driven by someone who has experience of the road. The road ends at the Laguna Cerro Negro, a high mountain lake at an elevation of 4.492m (14,737 ft) above the sea level.
