Travel guide to the top of Abra del Gallo
Abra del Gallo is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 4.630m (15,190ft) above the sea level, located in the Salta province, Argentina.
The road to the summit is called Ruta provincial 129. It’s ripio and gravel. It's one of the highest roads of Argentina. The road is reasonably steep, but it has an ok surface. The summit offers nice views of Nevado Queva to the west. The pass is located between San Antonio de los Cobres (22km) and Santa Rosa de los Pastos Grandes (29kms). The last part of the road is pretty sandy.
