Tamarack Ridge
Tamarack Ridge is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.312m (7,585ft) above the sea level, located in Fresno County, California, in USA.
Located in the Sierra National Forest, the road to the summit is paved. It’s winding but very scenic. Open to traffic throughout the year, may be closed for short periods in winter when the weather is bad.
The road to the summit is called Highway 168 (Tollhouse Road). The pass is located between the towns of Lakeshore and Shaver Lake. The road does get busier at weekends and in the main holiday season. It suffers the harsh meteorological conditions of the area every winter.
