Pike Ridge
Pike Ridge is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 2.723m (8,933ft) above the sea level, located in Garfield County, in the U.S. state of Colorado.
Located in the Bookcliff Mountains, the road to the summit is unpaved. A 4wd vehicle is recommended due to 3 sharp hairpin turns at the beginning of the climb. It suffers the harsh meteorological conditions of the area every winter.
The drive offers beautiful scenery. Starting from State Highway 139 (Douglas Pass Road), at Douglas Pass, the ascent is 7.40km (4.6 miles) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 197 meters. The average gradient is 2.66%.
