Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail is a very scenic loop road located in Gatlinburg, a mountain town in in Sevier County, eastern Tennessee, in USA. The road is open to cars only (no trucks or RVs).
Located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the winding road is asphalted. It is a one-way, scenic loop that is 6 miles long. The drive can be scary. The road is one way and very narrow, winding with no rail / barrier on the outer edge. Buses, big trucks, trailers and motorhomes are too big for the limited road.
Once you start up, you cannot turn around. It can be a nervous wreck. The gorgeus drive offers some of the best scenery in the area along a beautiful creek and historical sites. The road is closed from November to May. The drive includes several gorgeous views of Gatlinburg, waterfalls, roaring creeks, beautiful wildflowers and old homeplaces. It is a favorite side trip for many people who frequently visit the Smokies.
