Ward Peak
Ward Peak is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.589m (8,494ft) above the sea level, located in Placer County, California. Views from the summit are pretty spectacular.
The road to the summit, located in the Lake Tahoe Basin, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 vehicle required. This ski road offers towards the north face of Twin Peaks, but Lake Tahoe is in view as are the peaks in the Granite Chief Wilderness.
