Bonanza King
Bonanza King is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.120m (6,955ft) above the sea level, located in Trinity County, northern California, in USA.
The road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. 4WD vehicle required. At the summit there’s a lookout tower. It is usually staffed during the fire season. This road is closed from October 30th thru May 1st. Expect a trail pretty steep. Thunderstorm activity can quickly change unpaved roads to four-wheel-drive condition or make them impassable. The name of the peak is derived from the extensive gold mining activities that still persist in the area. For your safety, be sure to check the weather forecast before you begin your trip. If there is a thunderstorm in the area, please do not visit a lookout. The views from the summit are fantastic looking east to Mt Shasta and Castle Crags, west into the Trinity Alps and south to Trinity Lake.
