Deer Creek Road

Located within the Deer Creek Canyon Park, this twisted, steep and treacherous road is asphalted but narrow. Its many twists, turns and narrows can pose a challenge to even the most experienced drivers. It’s a downhill road down the mountain full of twists and turns. It’s 4.18 km (2.6 miles) long, between the Pacific Coast Highway and Pacific View Drive roads. The road is not easy, though. Up, down, right, left all the time. Driving at night, or in poor visibility, is not recommended for drivers unfamiliar with the road. There are random rocks, sand, and sharp curves with no guardrails. This route is not recommended if your passengers are prone to car sickness. Don’t stuff your belly too much. Eventually, you might feel vomiting temptations.

Really steep all in all (12%) with precipitous heights, this road is even tough in a car. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. It’s a paradise for photographers. This is definitely one road trip that you want to record with lots of photographs. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. The wooded environment and views of the Pacific are definitely worth it.
