Saddle Mountain
Saddle Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.538m (8,326ft) above the sea level, located in Catron County, New Mexico, United States.
The road to the summit, located within the Gila National Forest, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). 4x4 vehicle required. Expect a trail pretty steep. Thunderstorm activity can quickly change unpaved roads to four-wheel-drive condition or make them impassable. At the summit there’s a lookout tower built in 1966.
