Wooden Pole Powerline Road
Wooden Pole Powerline Road is a rough bumpy road located in the heart of Clark County, in the U.S. state of Nevada.
The road, also known as Forrest Road 577, is gravel and rocky, with some pretty steep rocky hills. Not recommended in the winter if snow is on the ground. This trail starts out at Kyle Canyon Road and ends at Angel Park. The ride is rather remote, so you need to be prepared. In case of a breakdown, there is very little in the way of passing traffic or inhabitants around, and no cell phone service in parts.
Located near the Mount Charleston and the Spring Mountain Recreation areas, the drive is 4.6 miles long. 4x4 vehicle with high clearance recommended. This is not an extreme 4WD pass, but there are parts that need good ground clearance and quite a lot of ascent/decent will be fairly steep. Road conditions are always changing. This a great trail for those who want an enjoyable drive with mild challenges and fantastic views.
