Providence Peak
Providence Peak is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.929m (9,609ft) above the sea level, located in Cache County, on the northern edge of Utah, United States.
The road to the summit, located in the Bear River Mountains, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. It’s called Forest Road 042 (Logan Peak Road). It’s newly constructed. Some parts of the road are very narrow with dangerous drop offs. 4x4 vehicle required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep.
The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). Due to the high elevations and exposure, the road is subject to strong winds and rapid weather changes. Be prepared for the cold and wind! The winds up are also very strong and make the stay at the top uncomfortable at times, but the views make it worth it. Even in summer you can confront with snowy days. Temperatures here in the winter are brutally cold.
The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. An incredible journey, an unforgettable experience. This is definitely one road trip that you want to record with lots of photographs. The summit offers nice views into Providence Canyon and the surrounding Cache Valley as well a view of the south ridge / south east face of Logan Peak to the north.
