Repeater Road
Repeater Road is a very exciting journey in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of Nevada, climbing up to 1.886m (6,187ft) above the sea level. The road ends at an abandoned RF radio site.
The road is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. Road conditions are always changing. Winter comes early and stays late on this trail, so you may only be able to safely run it in the middle of the summer. 4x4 vehicle recommended. Its many twists, turns and narrows can pose a challenge to even the most experienced drivers. The road is not easy, though. Up, down, right, left all the time. The journey offers an exhilarating driving experience, with superb views. The road offers some outstanding views of the Pahranagat Valley. An incredible journey, an unforgettable experience. This is definitely one road trip that you want to record with lots of photographs. This short trail is worth a detour just for the amazing views you will be greeted with. There are lots of viewpoints, official and unofficial. The road is a delight to drive, with every kind of twist and turn. There are also ample opportunities to view wildlife, including deer, bighorn sheep, and wild horses.
The road is pretty steep. Starting from Lincoln Avenue, in Alamo, the ascent is 18km (11.2 miles) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 798 meters. The average gradient is 4.44%, with some sections up to 10%. Due to the abundance of wildlife, it is a popular area for hunters.
