Ord Mountain
Ord Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.380m (4,527ft) above the sea level, located in San Bernardino County, in the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
The road to the summit, located in the Mojave Desert of southern California, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. It’s called Hamburger Hill Off Road Trail. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). This trail offers spectacular views of the San Bernardino snow capped mountains to the south, the Ord mountain range to the east and west and a captivating view of Tyler Valley to the north west. Located in Lucerne Valley it’s an old mine road with miles of sandy washes. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 vehicle required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. The trail follows numerous remnants of California's mining heritage.
