Mangas Mountain
Mangas Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.948m (9,671ft) above the sea level, located in Catron County, New Mexico, in USA.
The road to the summit, located in the Apache National Forest, is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). 4x4 vehicle with high clearance required. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Expect frequent lightning strikes. At the summit is a lookout tower built in 1934. It offers tremendous views to the east, south, and west. For your safety, be sure to check the weather forecast before you begin your trip. If there is a thunderstorm in the area, please do not visit a lookout.
