Success Summit
Success Summit is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.742m (8,996ft) above the sea level, located in White Pine County, along the central eastern boundary of the U.S. state of Nevada. On the ascent up to the pass, the traveler goes through groves of aspen trees.
The road to the summit is gravel, rocky, tippy and bumpy at times. The road is usually impassable from October to May. It’s called NF-423, part of the Success Loop Scenic Drive. Great trail for experienced wheelers. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. The road twists and turns as it climbs toward the pass. Additionally, much of this section of the road is flanked by aspen trees - making for a very nice drive, especially during autumn. The pass is named for an early mine. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. When the road is dry, it suitable for passenger cars, but higher-clearance vehicles are safer. At the summit the traveler has excellent views of the Schell Creek Range and the nearby Steptoe Valley.
