A very intimidating trail to Imperial Express SuperChair in Colorado
Imperial Express SuperChair is said to be one of the highest chairlifts in North America. Located in Summit County, Colorado, in USA, the chairlift lies at an elevation of 3.652m (11,981ft) above the sea level, just about 100 feet from the very top of Peak 8.
It’s one of the highest roads of Colorado. The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s located in the Breckenridge Ski Area. A 4WD vehicle and an experienced driver are recommended. It’s the highest chairlift in North America. It was opened in 2005.
The gradient is brutal, with slopes up to 55 degrees. The trail is open in the months when snow skiing is not available. It is mostly used to provide access to maintain ski lifts and lodges. The last part of the climb is very intimidating. It is well above timberline, and the trail is not wide at all.
