How challenging is the road to Imperial Express SuperChair in Colorado?

The road to the summit is completely unpaved. It’s one of the highest roads in Colorado. The gradient is brutal, with slopes up to 55 degrees. The trail is open during months when snow skiing is not available and is mostly used to provide access for maintaining ski lifts and lodges. The last part of the climb is extremely intimidating. It is well above timberline, and the trail is very narrow.
