Bald Mountain
Bald Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.766m (9,074ft) above the sea level, located in the Glass Mountain Range, Mono County, in the U.S. state of California.
The road to the summit, located within the Inyo National Forest, is gravel and rocky. It’s called Forest Road 2S162. It’s impassable in winters. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 recommended. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. At the summit there’s a fire lookout built in 1963. For your safety, be sure to check the weather forecast before you begin your trip. If there is a thunderstorm in the area, please do not visit a lookout. The viewpoint is 360 degrees providing views from Crowley Lake to Mono Lake.
