Mineral Peak
Mineral Peak is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.233m (7,326ft) above the sea level, located in Missoula County, in the U.S. state of Montana.
The road to the summit, located within the Lolo National Forest, is gravel and rocky. It’s impassable in winters. Avoid driving in this area if unpaved mountain roads aren't your strong point. 4x4 required. Several sections of the road have several hundreds of feet without any pullouts so meeting another vehicle in some of these locations means the uphill vehicle will have to do a considerable amount of backing up. Stay away if you're scared of heights. Expect a trail pretty steep. At the summit there’s a lookout tower built in 1957. For your safety, be sure to check the weather forecast before you begin your trip. If there is a thunderstorm in the area, please do not visit a lookout. The summit sits near the boundary of the Rattlesnake Wilderness and Rattlesnake National Recreation areas.
