A memorable road trip to Bears Ears Peak in CO
Bears Ears Peak is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 2.999m (9,839ft) above the sea level located in Routt County, in the U.S. state of Colorado.
Set high in the Elkhead Mountains, within the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forests in northwest Colorado, the road to the summit is totally unpaved and rough in places. It’s called County Road 4W. The access road usually doesn’t open until July and tops out at 3.009m (9,872ft) above the sea level. Starting at County Road 2W, the ascent is 2.2km (1.36 miles) long.
