The peak is located to the west of Picket Pin Mountain, in the southern part of Montana, within the Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Is the road to Chrome Mountain unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Picket Pin Creek Road. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). A 4x4 vehicle is required. This area is crisscrossed with ATV trails and old mining roads.

How long is the road to Chrome Mountain?

The road to the summit is 46km (28.1 miles) long, starting from Nye (an unincorporated community in Stillwater County).
