Chrome Mountain

Set high within the Custer Gallatin National Forest, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Picket Pin Creek Road. The road is usually impassable from October to June (weather permitting). 4x4 vehicle required. Expect a trail pretty steep. Wet conditions may make for tough driving along the muddy road. This area is threaded with ATV and old mining roads.
