The peak is located in the northwestern part of Montana, within the Lolo National Forest.

Why is there a road to Patricks Knob?

Set high in the Coeur d'Alene Mountains, the peak hosts communications equipment as well as a seasonal fire lookout post, called Patrick's Knob Lookout. It was built in 1976 and it’s still regularly staffed during fire season.

Is the road to Patricks Knob unpaved?

The road to the summit is totally unpaved and rocky in parts. It comprises steep sections, curves and 11 sharp hairpin turns. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended.
