Spruce Mountain
Spruce Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 3.051m (10,009ft) above the sea level located in Albany County, in Wyoming, USA.
The peak is located within the Medicine Bow National Forest. The road to the summit is called French Creek Road (Forest Road 500). It’s a gravel 4wd track. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. Avalanches, heavy snowfalls and landslides can occur anytime, being extremely dangerous due to frequent patches of ice. The road is a bit rocky and muddy in places. Visitors should be prepared for high altitude conditions. Summertime temperatures average 70 degrees but can drop as low as 30 degrees at night or during the frequent summer afternoon thunderstorms. High winds frequently occur. At the summit is a lookout tower.
