The Ultimate Guide to Traveling to Thousand Lake Mountain in Utah
Thousand Lake Mountain is a high mountain plateau at an elevation of 3.417m (11,210ft) above the sea level located in Wayne County, in South-Central Utah, USA. It’s one of the highest mountain roads of Utah.
Located in the easternmost section of Fishlake National Forest, the road to the summit, also called Flat Top, is a gravel track. 4x4 vehicles with high clearance required. Do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. The road is a bit rocky and muddy in places. Despite its name, Thousand Lake Mountain is known more for its craggy terrain than its lakes. The views from the summit of Boulder Mountain (to the south), Capitol Reef (to the east) and the Henry Mountains (to the east) are excellent.
