Tucked away in the Abajo Mountains of southeast Utah, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Forest Road 0087 (Abajo Peak Road). This is mostly a good road and is only really rough at the very end. 4x4 vehicle required. The pass is located on the road to Abajo Peak.
Located in the Manti-La Sal National Forest, do not travel this road in severe weather conditions. The road to the summit is usually open from around late June through sometime in October.
