Graham Pass: a road to nowhere
Graham Pass is a mountain pass at an elevation of 509m (1,669ft) above the sea level, located in Riverside County, in the southern portion of the U.S. state of California.
Tucked away in the Chocolate Mountains, the road to the summit is totally unpaved but very scenic. It’s known as Niland Road or Graham Pass Road. Visiting this area in a normal car is not recommended. This is for high clearance 4X4's only.
The road to the summit is 25.91km (16.1 miles) long, running north-south from Chuckwalla Valley Road to Bradshaw Trial. Always keep lots of extra water in your vehicle as well as emergency supplies. The road is narrow in parts, with no place to turn around and hardly any room to get out of your vehicles.
