Drews Gap is a drive worth taking in OR
Drews Gap is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.617m (5,306ft) above the sea level, located in Lake County, in the U.S. state of Oregon.
The road to the summit is totally paved. It’s called Oregon Route 140. The pass was named for Major Charles S. Drew, of the 1st Oregon Cavalry. Access to the pass is typically open all year round, with the occasional closure in winters due to dangerous weather conditions. The pass is located between Drews Reservoir and Booth State Scenic Corridor which is just East of the summit and 12 miles west of Lakeview.
The pass road is 68.07km (42.3 miles) long, running west-east from Bly (in Klamath County) to Lakeview (the county seat of Lake County).
