The road to the summit is completely unpaved and not maintained. A 4x4 vehicle with high clearance is required. Expect a narrow, rocky track with loose rocks, and extremely steep sections.

Set high in the Southern Rocky Mountains, the road is impassable in winter. It is about 12 km (7.45 miles) long, starting from Meeker.
