The road is located to the southwest of Mount Peale, in the southeastern part of Utah, within the Manti-La Sal National Forest. It runs through some of the most prominent peaks in the La Sal Mountains.

The road is entirely unpaved and very challenging, with rocky sections and brutally steep parts. The higher you go, the rougher the trail will become. A 4WD vehicle with high clearance is absolutely required.

Set high in the southeast of the La Sal Mountains, the road tops out at 3,231m (10,600ft) above sea level. It’s closed through the winter until conditions improve in the spring (weather permitting).
