Squaw Peak Road (FS Road 27) is 45km (28-mile) long, running north-south from Provo Canyon to Hobble Creek Canyon, via Rock Canyon Campgrounds. The drive is very scenic and travels through some very pretty mountain scenery.
Is Squaw Peak Road paved?
Tucked away in north-central Utah, to the east of the city of Provo, the road is mostly unpaved. The first 4.6 miles are paved and the remaining 23 miles are rough dirt road. Four wheel drive vehicles are recommended. Parking along this narrow road can be problematic, try to park in a way not block the road too much.
Is Squaw Peak Road open?
Set high in the Wasatch Mountain range, the road tops out at 2.606m (8,549ft) above the sea level. It’s seasonally closed and opened from mid-May through mid-October.
