Travel guide to the top of Griffith Mountain in CO
Griffith Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 3.522m (11,555ft) above the sea level, located in Clear Creek County, in the US state of Colorado.
Located to the east of the historic Town of Georgetown, the road to the summit is totally unpaved. It’s called Griffin Mountain Road. Tucked away within the Arapaho National Forest, the peak is named after two early Clear Creek miners, the Griffith brothers, Davis and George.
Starting at Forest Service Road 710.1, the road to the summit is 3.54km (2.2 miles) long. Set high in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, the road is impassable in winters. Visitors should be prepared for high altitude conditions.
