An epic enthralling road to Webb Mountain in MT
Webb Mountain is a high mountain peak at an elevation of 1.826m (5,990ft) above the sea level, located in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of Montana.
Tucked away in the Kootenai National Forest in northwestern Montana, the road to the summit is totally unpaved but navigable by all passenger vehicles. However, the last quarter mile of the access road is steep and rocky and not suited for low clearance vehicles.
The road to the summit is called Road 7179. It is pretty steep, hitting an 8% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. Starting at NF-337, the road is 6.59km (4.1 miles) long. Over this distance the elevation gain is 328 meters. The average gradient is 4.97%. The summit hosts a fire lookout tower built in 1959 and used as an observation point for fighting forest fires for over 40 years.
