Triunfo Pass

The road to the summit is totally paved but narrow in parts. It’s called Yerba Buena Road, one of the best drives in Malibu area. The pass road is 18.18km (11.3 miles) long running between the Pacific Coast Highway and the Mulholland Highway. It’s a downhill winding road down the mountain full of twists and turns.

Slide Area: Road subject to closure at any time. The drive is narrow and windy. Some drivers regularly exceed the posted speed limit coming downhill which increases the chance that they may lose control as the road curves at the bottom. There are random rocks, sand, and sharp curves with no guardrails. Set high in the Santa Monica Mountains, the road is pretty steep and hits an 11% of maximum gradient through some of the ramps. The wooded environment and views of the Pacific are definitely worth it.
