Sandy Wash is a bumpy road on the shore of Lake Mohave
Sandy Wash is a scenic unpaved road located in Clark County, in the U.S. state of Nevada, on the shore of Lake Mohave. Experienced 4-wheel drive recommended.
Located within the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the trail is totally unpaved. It’s 3.46 km (2.15 mi) long, running from Mead-Davis Powerline Road to a small beach at the end of the trail. The most challenging part of the drive is a water crossing about 30 inches deep and 100 feet long near its end.
After rain, sections of road can become decidedly hazardous when fast-flowing creek crossings and slippery mud can cause road closures. 4x4 vehicle (and an experienced driver) required. Be sure to bring plenty of water.
