The Wild Road to Josephus Lake
Josephus Lake is a high mountain lake at an elevation of 2.150m (7,053ft) above the sea level, located in Custer County, in the center of the U.S. state of Idaho.
Located within the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the road to the crystal clear lake is totally unpaved. It’s rough and more narrow but passable in truck. It’s called Forest Service Road 8. It's usually impassable in winters.
Starting from the paved ID-21, the road to the lake is 30.73km (19.1 miles) long. 4x4 vehicle required.
