Requa Road (Patrick J Murphy Memorial Road) is a steep coastal drive in Del Norte County, California, in USA. The road is a little bumpy but definitely worth the journey.
Located within the Redwood National and State Parks, the hillside windy road is paved. It’s 3.86 km (2.4 miles) long starting from U.S. 101. Not recommended driving this road at night, as there are no markings, lights or anything. It’s one of the most scenic drives in the Redwood National and State Parks.
The area is often covered by the fog. The road is dangerous due the lack of guardrails. Motorhomes/RVs and trailers not advised. The road is very steep and narrow and ends at the Klamath River Overlook perched 650 feet. Starting from U.S. 101 road, the elevation gain is 187 meters. The average gradient is 4.84%.
