White Pass, a paved mountain road in Washington
White Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1.365m (4,478ft) above the sea level, located on the border of Yakima and Lewis counties, in the U.S. state of Washington.
Located in the Cascade Range of Washington, the road to the summit is called U.S. Route 12 (US 12). It’s paved but pretty steep. The pass is 45.86km (28.5 miles) long, running from Silver Beach (Yakima County) to Packwood (in easternmost Lewis County). The road traversing the pass was finished in 1951. It is open year-round.
