Driving the extremely dizzy Tepehuacán de Guerrero Road
Tepehuacán de Guerrero Road is an uncategorized Hidalgo state route road, located in the heart of Sierra Madre Oriental mountains at north of the state.
This road is extremely dizzy and narrow and offers spectacular views of the mountains and lush tropical jungle and forests. There are many indigenous towns in the way.
Starting at a T junction to Mexico 85 in Allende (1.360 masl), the road descends to the canyon at 260 masl in Huatepango and gradually again ascends up the mountains at Tepehuacán, in a maximum elevation of 1.560 masl. Again the road descends in Tamala to a river bed at 330 masl and again ascends the T juction of Mexico 105 at 1.540 masl. All elevation changes in just less than 100 kilometers. This road can be dangerous for presence of constant fog in rainy season or ice in winter. The road is popular among tourists, and there’s a popular resort hotel nearby for spiritual beliefs and meditation.
