The road, also known as Muskoka District Road 25, is fully paved. In 2011, the road was upgraded in the north half of the township. These improvements made Brackenrig Road wider and reduced hazardous corners, improving safety for drivers. The construction process also exposed new road cuts and extended existing ones.

Located north of Port Carling, in the southern part of Canada, the road is 9.9 km (6.15 miles) long. It runs south-north from Road 118 West (Frank Miller Memorial Route) to Road 4. The drive offers beautiful views of Lake Rosseau, making it a popular scenic route.
